Biography 

Olawale Edun being confidential, reveals less of his personal and family life. But It was gathered that One of his sons is married to Amy Adwoa Edun (née Appiah), a Ghanian, who is a friend of the former Minister of Finance Kemi Adeosun who served under Prof. Wale Edun, Yemi Osinbajo in Lagos state.

Adetomiwa Edun happens to be an actor in the UK film industry, and another actor (Tobi Edun) is wed to Folake Fajemirokun, the successful business tycoon, entrepreneur, investor, venture capitalist, philanthropist, and chairman of Xerox Company Chief Oladele Fajemirokun’s daughter.

Meanwhile, Chief Oladele’s wife, Edith Korantema Fajemirokun (Koranteng), is also a Ghanaian. Wale Edun’s Career

Wale Edun has a robust financial career both domestically and internationally. He oversaw the bank’s Treasury and Money Market operations as well as Capital Market and Financial Advisory operations on behalf of regional subsidiaries and affiliates of sizable international corporations while serving as Chase Merchant Bank’s Head of Treasury and Deputy Head of Corporate Finance.

He received international experience while working for Chase when on secondment to Lehman Brothers and Chase Manhattan Capital Markets Corporation on Wall Street in New York, USA. From 1980 until 1986, he was employed by Chase Merchant Bank (later Continental) in Lagos.

He has over 25 years of expertise in merchant banking, corporate finance, economics, and international finance on a national and international scale. He began working with the World Bank/IFC in Washington, DC, in September 1986 as a member of the esteemed Young Professionals programme.

Mr. Edun worked at the World Bank on economic and financial plans for nations in the Far East, including Indonesia and India, as well as in Latin America and the Caribbean, including the Dominican Republic and Trinidad He has been Chapel Hill Denham Group’s chairman since March 2008. In 1989, he went back to Nigeria to co-found Stanbic IBTC Plc (then known as Investment Banking & Trust Company Limited) and serve as its executive director.

He established Denham Management Limited in 1994. Additionally, he sits on the boards of several other businesses. Olawale Wale Edun has experience in corporate finance at the national and international levels as well as in economics, public finance, international finance, merchant banking, and other related fields. In Lagos State, Wale Edun served an unprecedented two terms as the Honorable Commissioner for Finance (1999–2007).

He is the creator of Denham Management Limited, chairman of Livewell Initiative, an NGO working in the health sector, and a trustee of Sisters Unite for Children, an organization dedicated to assisting underprivileged children.  In addition, he serves on the boards of several additional businesses.

Wale Edun obtained his economics bachelor’s degree from the University of London and his economics master’s degree from the University of Sussex in England. He doesn’t reveal his birthday or the elementary or secondary schools he attended.
