Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), says the policemen captured in a viral video extorting some youths in Osun State have been arrested.
In a trending video shared on Friday, a crowd in the company of the state’s Speaker of the House of Assembly, Adewale Egbedun, could be seen telling the policemen to refund the money transferred into their account.
Reacting to the video, the FPRO, Olumuyiwa Adejobi confirmed that the said officers involved in the act have been arrested and said necessary action will be taken against them.
“The Commissioner of Police Osun State, CP Kehinde Longe, has acted on this. The officers have been arrested, and necessary action would be taken,” Adejobi tweeted.
“The PPRO osun has been ordered to update us on the actions taken. We have zero tolerance for extortion and corruption in general.”
