The police in Imo State has disclosed that a good Samaritan has found a 16-year-old girl who escaped from her abductors and was roaming in the state.
Henry Okoye, the Imo police spokesperson, said said in a statement that the girl identified as Khadijat Labran, was abducted from Ganaja junction in Lokoja, the Kogi capital, but was found in Imo state.
Okoye said the girl was found roaming around Nkwerre before she was taken to the police station.
“The Imo state police command wishes to inform the general public of a found young girl named KHADIZAT LABRAN ‘F’, 16years of age, dark in complexion, 4ft tall, has no tribal marks and speaks pidgin English fluently,” the statement said.
“She was rescued by a good Samaritan on 25/07/2023, who saw her wandering about along the road within Nkwerre.
“She claims to hail from Lokoja in Kogi state and also stated that she was abducted by unknown men at Ganaja junction in Lokoja, who blindfolded her.
“Members of the public who know the young girl or her parents are by this press release encouraged to call the police public relations department, Owerri on 08148024755 and assist in reuniting her with her parents.”
