Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) has come under fire as customers remain unable to access their accounts three days after updating its GTWorld App.

Many customers say they are unable to access their funds since the update was done.

“GTCO upgraded their app, shut everyone out of the new version 🤷, are we to beg you to give us access to our money,” noted a customer, @Abraham_Anu.

SP Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesman for Lagos State Police Command also noted he’s been unable to use the app.

“I’m yet to see just one person who has successfully logged into the new app,” @BenHundeyin

“Can I just revert to the old one?🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

“My small money o.”

The app update has caused inconvenience and frustration among customers who are experiencing difficulties logging in.

Previously, GTWorld allowed customers to receive money through cardless withdrawals from all ATMs.

However, in a message sent to customers, GTBank informed them that as of July 12, 2023, GAPS-Lite services would no longer be accessible within the GTWorld app and would instead require a separate standalone app.

Customers received a notification stating, “Effective July 12, 2023, GAPS-Lite services will no longer be accessible within the GTWorld App. It will be available as a standalone app. Kindly download the GAPS-Lite app via the Play Store and App Store. On July 12th, GTWorld will automatically update to the new version. If App Updates is not set to automatic, you will need to update your app via Play/App Store.”

However, following the app update, numerous customers have encountered difficulties logging in and accessing their accounts.

Reports indicate that customers are unable to proceed beyond the initial screen, which prompts them to enter their phone number and a 6-digit OTP (One-Time Password) that is not being received despite multiple attempts.
