The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), has redeployed Mr Felix Akinbinu, the Regional Airport Manager, South West Airports and Manager Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA), to the Airfield Services Department.
His redeployment followed the theft of runaway approach lightings at the Murtala Mohammad Airport, Lagos.
In a memo signed by the Managing Director, FAAN, Mr Kabir Mohammed, announcing the redeployment of Akinbinu, he is to hand over to Mr Sunday Ayodele who was before, now General Manager Airfield services on or before July 14, 2023.
It would be recalled that unknown persons allegedly carted away the recently reinstalled airfield lighting systems at the domestic runway 18/36L of Murtala Muhammad Airport, which led to the suspension of some FAAN officials.
