A fatal accident occurred on Friday in the Maryland area of Lagos State, resulting in the death of one person and injuries to two others.

The incident involved a MACK concrete mixer truck, owned by Dangote Group, which collided with another truck belonging to JustRite, a popular retail outlet.

The driver of the JustRite truck, who was loading items into his vehicle at the time, tragically lost his life in the crash.

Recall, THE WITNESS reported on Tuesday that a truck belonging to Dangote Group killed a commercial motorcyclist, popularly known as okada, and injured the passenger in the Apapa area of Lagos. The unfortunate incident, which was attributed to reckless driving by the Dangote truck driver, led to the immediate death of the motorcyclist at the scene.

Confirming the incident, Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, stated that after the initial collision, the Dangote truck veered off and crashed into a nearby building, injuring two additional victims.

“The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, in response to distress calls via 767/112 Toll-Free lines at 1208hrs, activated the LRT from Command and Control Centre, Alausa,” Oke-Osanyintolu stated.

The injured victims were transported to Gbagada General Hospital for immediate medical attention, while the body of the deceased driver was handed over to the family.
