In a twist of event, Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemical has said that the Presidential Technical Sub-Committee on Naira-based crude sales to local refineries would make a formal announcement on the pricing of its fuel to the public in October.
The company was however silent on the price it sold its current loads of PMS to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL.
THE WITNESS investigations revealed that Dangote’s disclosure is in contrary to recent developement as the oil firm sold its current loads of PMS at N898 per litre to the NNPCL.
Olufemi Soneye, Chief Spokesperson of the NNPCL, also confirmed the development in a chat with Daily Trust on Sunday.
According to Soneye “We successfully loaded PMS at the Dangote Refinery today. The claim that we purchased it at N760 per liter is incorrect. For this initial loading, the price from the refinery was N898 per liter.”
“As at the moment, over 70 trucks had been loaded,” he said.
The report has however generated uproar as Nigerians lambasted the Dangote Refinery for deceiving Nigerians with false promises.
