Africa Sports & Tourism Awards holds April 25 in Abuja

The inaugural Africa Sports & Tourism Awards (ASTA) is set to take place on April 25th, 2024, at the prestigious Transcorp Hilton in Abuja, Nigeria.
This groundbreaking event, themed “Sports as a Catalyst for Accelerated Tourism Development in Africa,” aims to recognize and celebrate the powerful intersection of sports and tourism on the African continent.
Supported by Project Fly With Us Africa, the Federal Ministry of Sports Development, and the African Tourism Board, ASTA represents a pivotal moment in highlighting the immense potential of sports in driving tourism growth across Africa.
The awards ceremony will honor individuals, organizations, and initiatives that have demonstrated outstanding contributions to leveraging sports to propel tourism development. From innovative sporting events that attract visitors to transformative community projects, ASTA will showcase the diverse ways in which sports serve as a catalyst for economic and social advancement.
“We are thrilled to launch the Africa Sports & Tourism Awards, shining a spotlight on the pivotal role of sports in driving tourism development across Africa,” said Ambassador Peace Onuiri, ASTA President. “By recognizing and celebrating excellence in this field, we aim to inspire further innovation and collaboration towards unlocking the full potential of sports tourism on our continent.”
The ASTA ceremony will feature keynote speeches, panel discussions, and networking opportunities, bringing together key stakeholders from the sports, tourism, and government sectors.
