Tears flowed as the remains of 20 out of 36 military officers and soldiers killed in combat and air crash in Niger State between August 13 to 14, 2023, were on Friday buried at the National Military Cemetery in Abuja.
The remaining 16 others had already been buried at various locations across the country.
THE WITNESS had reported that three officers and 22 soldiers were killed in an ambush by terrorists around Zungeru general area in Niger State last week.
Again, a NAF MI-171 Helicopter crashed on August 14 2023 at about 1pm near Chukuba village of Shiroro LGA I Niger State while on casualty evaluation mission.

The aircraft evacuating the victims crashed with 14 soldiers previously killed in action and seven soldiers wounded in action, bringing the casualty figure to 36 killed in action.
